Machel has worked in the environmental sector for 15 years guiding the development and implementation of projects funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, USAID, the Global Environment Facility, the Canadian Green Fund and the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica among others. Machel holds a B.Sc. in Geography and Certificate in Project Management from the UWI. He served as an Educational Outreach Officer for the Portland Environment Protection Association (PEPA) for 5 years before serving as its Chief Executive Officer for 10 years. He also has advanced training in facilitation and community animation and is now operating as the Executive Director of the Alligator Head Foundation.
